Thai 101 (Hands-on)
(Introduction to Classical & Traditional Home-style Thai Cooking)
On arrival, a complementary sample from Thai Essence. Class begins with a brief introduction and presentation on aspects of Thai foods. Followed by sampling an appetizer from chef Phant (Pon)’s demo. Demonstration on how to handle Thai ingredients. Continue with hands-on sessions of 4 fundamental Thai dishes. For each dish students will have a chance to see demos and sample all the delicious dishes from Chef Phant's cooking and will experience the techniques themselves with assistance from Chef Phant. For each dish students will learn how to balance the tastes, create textures and bring out flavors. Session wraps up with complementary Thai dessert from Chef Phant (Pon).

In this class we assume that Students have a better understanding of the fundamentals of Thai cooking and the aspects of Thai food in general, or have taken a Thai cooking class with Chef Phant. On arrival, a complementary sample from Thai Essence. Class begins with a demonstration on how to handle Thai ingredients for each dish. Continue with hands-on sessions for 4 Thai dishes. (Fusion & Contemporary Thai Cooking)
Assuming you have a good command of Thai foods and know Thai ingredients and cooking techniques. Class begins with a brief discussion of Thai & foreign ingredients for individual dishes. Followed by a demo and sampling of an appetizer from chef Phant (Pon). Continue with hands-on sessions for 3 dishes. For each dish students will have a chance to see demos and sample all the delicious dishes from Chef Phant cooking, as well as experiencing the techniques themselves with assistance from Chef Phant. For each dish students will learn how to perfect the tastes, textures and flavors.
This class is a fusion of home-style Thai cooking with foreign ingredients and cooking techniques. It is designed for experienced cooks who wish to expand their cooking knowledge and skills. Recipes won't discourage you with lengthy ingredients. Instead, you will find them: easy to follow, fun to cook, simple and delicious. All dishes are easy to replicate at home.
The class starts with a presentation of the influence on Thai cuisine by neighboring countries, significance of Thai ingredients, and other ethnic groups cooking techniques, followed by a delineation of the fundamentals of Thai cooking. Topics covered include: specific use of flavor and textures, taste development, cooking techniques, understanding the different kinds of cooking techniques, handling Thai ingredients, familiarizing you with Thai cooking equipment as well as presentation techniques.
Each recipe is from the cookbook or chef Phant new creation.

Team Building Workshop
World Cuisine Classes: Cooking with a team
Designed for Fun Team Building Workshop
Hands-on
3½-4½ hours workshop
This workshop has been designed and facilitated by Chef Phant (Pon) Worakul, a former Mechanical Design Engineer form Nortel Networks, and mentored and coached by Bill Hanson, a former Management Consultant with Cloverdale Corp.
Participants will be asked to do some tasks they are not familiar with. The leadership role and the team members are interchanged. Getting a job done as a team is essential for this cooking workshop.
Format: Upon arrival, enjoy a complementary sample from Thai Essence. Session begins with a briefing about the goals of the session, followed by a brief introduction and presentation on aspects of Thai foods by chef Phant (Pon). Sample an appetizer from chef Phant (Pon)’s demo and continue with hands-on for 4 basic Thai dishes in session I and II. Menu is designed specifically for Fun Team Building. All participants not only learn basic Thai cooking, but also have a chance to interact and work together as a team. Session ends with a wrap up & review of the outcome, then enjoy a complementary dessert from Chef Phant (Pon)

This presentation is designed for educating the public in both cooking or consuming Thai food. This is one of a kind that has gained recognition in the media and culinary world. It gives the audience the knowledge and understanding of Thai food that goes beyond Pad Thai or Thom Kha Kai.
The material is designed for an educational and entertaining environment. Audiences will learn about the fundamentals, tricks and tips in Thai food for both cooking techniques and ordering Thai food in a restaurant. Topics covered include: the influence on Thai cuisine by neighboring countries; significance of Thai ingredients; adaptation of Thai cooking techniques; restaurant food versus home cooked; specific use of flavor and textures; taste development; expectation and interpretation of the dish and understanding the restaurant menus.
This presentation is for audience participation. You can ask any question that you want to know about classical Thai cooking and Thai cooking in general. You also will have a chance to sample a few appetizers.
This presentation is suitable for private group gatherings, school activity, and corporate entertainment.
